A huge success, the WOW (World of Web3) Summit Hong Kong 2023 took place at Asia World-Expo on March 29 and 30, 2023. After the epidemic, it was the first and biggest Web3-focused event in the APAC region. The Hong Kong government (Hong Tourism Board, InvestHK, and Financial Services Development Council) funded the event, which was powered by GuyWay and MarketMakingPro, hosted by Uvecon.VC, co-hosted by MaGESpire, and co-sponsored by GuyWay and MarketMakingPro.

WOW Summit HK co-host and MaGE Group founder Bowie Lau stated:

“At WOW Summit, we witnessed Hong Kong’s determination to reassert its leadership in the Web3 space, and the tremendous Hong Kong government support (including FSDC, InvestHK and HKTB) is a testament to this resolve. No effort was spared to make this summit a huge success. We were thrilled to see the overwhelmingly positive response, with over 150 speakers and thousands of attendees coming from all over the world to Hong Kong to share their insights and participate in shaping the future of Web3. We look forward to making the next editions bigger and better in the years to come.”

WOW Summit collaborated this time with Cathay/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens, another large-scale, well-known event in Hong Kong. Web3 and rugby lovers could purchase a ticket bundle for a discounted price to attend both events. There were also several more low-cost choices for students, corporations, and entrepreneurs exhibiting at WOW.

During the startup competition, Web3 startups got the unique opportunity to pitch on stage in front of hundreds of investors and VCs. The winners were chosen by a jury of 26 VCs, private investors, funds, and accelerators including Cyberport, Newman Capital, Blockchain Founders Club, Spartan Capital, Metapac, and others. Cyrator, which offers pioneering anti-collusion mechanisms that allow analysts from all around the world to agree on credible crypto evaluations, has ratings for the selected firms.
